Promethea512 and Persephone512 are both prototype android models with an initial 512 Exobyte of data storage (memory modules may be upgraded or extended if necessary). The original, complicated numerical model numbers of their series were given code names so they would be easier to remember. These names, which correspond to their functions, are based on ancient Greek mythological characters and gods:

Promethea512, also known as the “lightbringer model”, is a library archivist and guide droid which operates in above-ground libraries and educational facilities.

Persephone512, also known as the “sentinel model”, is a guardian and entourage security droid which operates below ground.

The model naming system is reminiscent of code names given to computer parts, architectures or operating system versions (examples: [1] [2] [3] [4] )
